Escaping the City: Getting to Spring Lake Without a Car

One of the rarest luxuries on the coast is the ability to drop your bags and never touch a steering wheel again. You do not need to sit in turnpike traffic or rent a car to enjoy a perfect week at the shore.

The Train Journey

NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line runs right from New York Penn Station down the coast. The journey is roughly two hours, dropping you off right at the Spring Lake station on Warren Avenue.

Local Tip: Most weekend trains require a quick, cross-platform transfer at Long Branch. It's literally a forty-foot walk to the connecting train, but it's good to know in advance so you can grab your bags!

Arriving at the Cottage

The train station is nestled right in town, just over a mile from The Salted Cottage. When you step off the platform, it is a quick, five-minute Uber or local cab ride straight to our driveway.

Your Car-Free Week

Once you arrive, the included golf cart handles absolutely everything.

You can load it up for morning beach trips, take it downtown for coffee and pastries, or use it for a breezy ride to dinner and drinks at The Parker House. You never have to worry about finding parking at the beach or drawing straws for a designated driver at night.
